Few companies include a page on their competitors but as an attempt to position ourselves within a complex marketplace in useful for potential clients we decided to break the mould and compare our offer to that of others.
Starting from the top, it's hard to imagine Accenture and Deloitte as competition but along with the hundreds of other small consulting companies throughout Europe we do represent a significant alternative to the big consulting companies. Compared to these consulting powerhouses we are light and fleet of foot and size can be a definite advantage when it comes to adaptability and flexibility. Just don't ask us to ramp up too quickly or mobilise armies of IT people overnight. Unlike many of the big consulting companies we aren't tied up in strategic partnerships with key vendors such as SAP or Oracle so we genuinely don't try to sell you stuff in order to achieve commission.
Small to medium projects with lots of ambiguity suit us down to the ground - our flexible adaptable approach works well with things that start out pretty fuzzy and only become clear later on. Big structured projects that are more about implementation than ideas - about minimising risk are for the big boys.
When it comes to the small and medium consultancies we are different in a variety of ways. First we are a sort of hybrid between technology, business and management consulting so we offer a holistic approach based on our key streams of information, knowledge and learning. In this respect we think we are unique - but that's a dangerous statement so let's just say that we are pretty different. In our mind that a key advantage and is probably the single most important reason why clients like to work with us. The problem though is that being different has it's disadvantages and it's sometimes quite hard for potential clients to truly understand what we do. That's partly why we try to align our offer under headings that mean something to our clients (KM and e-learning represent such 'labels' but overuse them and they become too constraining).
Unlike some of our competition we also try to be authentic - so we do what we say we do and wear our values on our sleeve. We genuinely work with our clients and expect them to have similar value systems to ourselves.
