We are architects online. We work with clients to design online spaces that meet their needs. We develop sketch plans and final blueprints for designers and developers to work with when building your online space. The 'information architecture' is crucial to the success of the online space.
Content is king. Designing a web site is one thing - developing effective content is another - and this is a task that is frequently under-resourced. Even when a serious attempt is made to develop engaging content often the plan to keep that content updated and fresh is weak. We can help plan for effective content and also build-in effective content management approaches right from the start. If you have a web site you need a content management strategy and probably some content management tools or even a fully fledged content management system.
Content Mapping
We use Concept Maps to help plan and develop web site content. The Concept Map approach enables key messages to be developed along the lines of a Mind Map. A Concept Map in conjunction with a visual walkthrough together provide a perfect brief for a full web site development project. Concept Maps also provide the outline for the final site map.
Web Copywriting
Writing for the web is different to writing for print. A more direct approach is required and the language tends to be less formal. Like any written communication though it's important to know your audience and to write with them in mind. Sounds easy but it's actually quite hard - we know because although we have been doing it for years we still struggle to get it right.
Content Management
Integral to effective content development is an effective approach to content management. Effective web sites have to have an effective content management strategy. We work with clients to develop customised strategies based on a range of tools and processes from simple templates to full scale content management systems such as Microsoft Content Management Server (CMS). Crucial though to effective content management though are the definition of roles and responsibilities for content elements - by developing a distributed content creation scheme together with appropriate training content can be managed much more effectively.
Web Site Statistics Capture and Analysis
It's surprising how few businesses actually capture and analyse their web site statistics. Not using the statistics properly is like flying without instruments. Did you know that you can track which search engines bring visitors to your site and also what keywords people are using to find you? All this and lots more can be revealed by analysing statistics properly.
